Ever wondered what your neighbors are up to around the lake? August 9, join us for a day of unique, behind-the-scenes experiences hosted by fellow Lake Waramaug Association members. From hydrofoiling and maple syrup production to backyard birding, you'll get an inside look at some fascinating hobbies, learn something new, and meet neighbors who are passionate about sharing what they love.

Hydrofoil Demonstration on the Lake

Watch experienced riders glide silently above the surface at Arrow Point, then hear how the boards work and why foiling is changing how people enjoy the lake. Watch from shore or hop aboard the observation boat. Shoes with backs required on the boat; sun protection recommended.

Maple & Apiary Tour

10:00  – 11:30 am • Cap 12

Walk up a picturesque hayfield along a mowed trail, passing a classic silo, beehives, a purple martin birdhouse, before entering a shaded maple forest path and to see where the maple trees are tapped. Then enjoy a tasting of Lake Waramaug Private Reserve maple syrup and honey, fresh from the source. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes; tick protection recommended.

Backyard Birder Garden & Lunch

12:00 – 1:30 pm • Cap: 12

Tour a thoughtfully planted feeder garden designed to attract a wide variety of birds. You’ll discover how their handcrafted wooden feeder designs and intentional plantings support different feeding styles and diets, while your host shares practical lessons learned and the unexpected joy the hobby brings them. Stay for lunch.
